TESTIMONIALS

Now 12 years old, our son has played hockey for 8 years. Ever since he first stepped on the ice, he wanted to be a goalie. He started playing at the Mite level in a local Tier 4 program. We quickly realized that goalie training at many organizations was not a priority and began to seek out additional training. After his second Mite season, we discovered Steve Valiquette’s Goalie School and our son really flourished. After that first year at camp, our son has gone back each year. He continues to learn and improve his techniques every year. He has been able to apply what he has learned at camp to his everyday play and now plays at the AAA level. He applies the skills Steve teaches during practice and in games. We feel certain that, without Steve’s hands-on, positive approach to coaching, our son would not be playing at the level he is today. Steve is truly an inspiration and his genuine desire for all students to be the best that they can be is a life-lesson that students can carry over to their day-to-day lives. Steve instills in his students that it’s okay to “dream big” and that they can be and do anything that they set out to achieve. We highly recommend Steve Valiquette’s Goalie School, as well as the private lessons he offers, to anyone who wants to keep getting better and better."

“I’m lucky to have had the opportunity to work with Steve during my first pro season. Through his guidance, I’ve developed a more consistent game with increased confidence. His knowledge and experience of the goaltending position is second to none. With Steve, I have developed more patience and awareness in my game. He recognizes that every goalie is unique and contains a different skill set. With this, he has progressively developed and maintained both the strengths and weaknesses in my game. He also has presented me with new and useful ideas that I have adopted into my play. The goaltending position is constantly evolving and Steve has the vision and foresight to keep you ahead of the game.”

“I had the opportunity to work with Steve Valiquette during his time with the New York Rangers. He was the consummate professional. There was never a task too big nor too small for him to take on, and he always worked with the team’s best interests in mind. On a personal level, he is one of the finest individuals I have had the chance to deal with, and I am glad that I am able to call him my friend.”

NHL Goaltending Coach New York Rangers

“I have known Steve since we played junior hockey together over 15 years ago, I also played against him in the NHL, and shot for him when he was taking his summer goalie lessons. During this time I always found Steve’s competitive spirit and positive attitude, on and off the ice, to be both an inspiration to me and a direct path for all of his successes. Steve’s passion for hockey mixed with his cheerful personality make him an ideal mentor for any young goaltender looking to grow as a goalie, and also as a person.

"Steve Valiquette and Nolan Schaefer have been instrumental in our son’s development as a goalie.  In addition to having impressive resume’s individually, they make a very complimentary team.  Having not grown up in North America, we are unfamiliar with the intricacies and nuances associated with the world of hockey.  Steve and Nolan have been trustworthy advisors to us and coach/mentor to our son, both on and off the ice.  They are very knowledgeable, accessible and responsive. We have full faith and confidence in Steve and Nolan knowing that they hold our son’s best interest in their hearts. They have an extraordinary work ethic, genuine commitment to their students an amazing insight into the game of hockey. As parents, we trust Steve and Nolan implicitly not only in developing our son as a goalie but also as a respectable young adult. They are both incredible coaches and mentors."
